Our taste for great quality produce is grounded in our early days at the farm. For over 100 years, J. Ambrogi Foods has worked with farms to bring exceptional quality and flavor to your table. Our history and affinity for farmlivin’ is why local sustainability is of prime importance to us. We support a number of farms in our area, many of whom are committed to environmentally friendly farming practices. In addition to supporting our local farms, by choosing to shop at J. J. Ambrogi Foods Supports Local Farms
Farms have served as the bedrock of the American economy and society for decades. They continue to preserve our beautiful nation’s landscape and fuel our local economies. Farmers first laid the seeds for our country to bloom into the industrial leader that it is today, but since 1935, nearly 5 million farms have been lost along with even more jobs that depended on those cultivations. At J. Ambrogi Foods Distribution we are devoted to keeping our local farms alive. Every season, we strive to provide our customers with as much local sustainable produce that is available: yummy yams, eggcelent eggplant, fruit that brix the spot, and greens that wiltnot disappoint. By supporting local farms, we reduce our “carbon footprint,” encourage the well-being of the local economy, and deliver the freshest and finest produce to your kitchen. This past growing season we sourced an average of nearly six thousand local items per month from family-owned farms in our community. From the Jersey Fresh and Jersey Grown programs to the mushroom farms of eastern Pennsylvania, all of our neighborhood plantations are handled with generations of knowledge and care. We promise through our partnerships to bring you only the best quality in local produce.

Nourishing Our Neighborhood
By choosing to shop with J. Ambrogi Foods, you are choosing to help the local community grow. Our support of over two dozen local farms not only brings you great produce, it also strengthens the surrounding economy. Local farms keep operations close to home. They make use of regional supply chains; sell to neighborhood distributors, schools, restaurants, and bakeries; spend with local merchants; and provide a number of local jobs- even more local jobs than large commercial firms. Unfortunately, commercial firms are wiping out these neighborhood businesses by sourcing their products from foreign vendors. The crispness of the growing season threatens the prosperity of farmers while their non-local counterparts continue to thrive year-round. Farmers saw their lowest net income since 1940 at the beginning of the 21st century. Selling directly allows farmers to profit more off of each item and in turn contribute even more to the local economy.
